SELECTION & SCREENING

We welcome all people to offer their service with Veerayatan, regardless of nationality, creed, religion, color or race. However, the nature of development work as well as living conditions will challenge volunteers to be adaptable, patient, driven, innovative and resourceful.

What we are looking for
When screening for volunteers, we are looking for the following qualities in a candidate:

  • Twenty-One (21) Years or older
  • Be devoted and productive in applying their skills to the development cause
  • Be able to adjust and adapt to local environment, dress and customs
  • Be respectful of the diversity of cultures and traditions in that society
  • Be able to work in or even lead a project team
  • Be goal-oriented in so far as making a meaningful difference

Fellowship Scheme

In addition to the above criteria, Veerayatan is looking to sponsor exceptional candidates for its projects; the Fellowship will cover candidates’ travel costs as well as food and accommodation.

If your application for Fellowship proves unsuccessful, this will not materially affect your application as a volunteer.

Screening

A complete application package to Veerayatan includes the following:

  • Signed VVP Application Form and Waiver of Liability
  • Signed Terms and Conditions Form
  • Proof of Health Insurance Form and Emergency Contact Form
  • Two Non-family reference letters

After we receive your complete application package, we will conduct a phone interview.

As the evaluation process progresses, Veerayatan may contact references, request additional materials and re-interview candidates.

Veerayatan reserves the right to make the ultimate selection of volunteers. All decisions are final.
