Bihar Flood Relief Work

Bihar Floods Rehabilitation Work

On the evening preceding his Nirvana, Tirthankar Mahavir addressed his disciple Gautama: “the animals are being sacrificed in the Yagna, go forth and save them.” This divine message is one for all of humanity to heed.  VEERAYATAN EYE CAMPS

For 15 days in the Northern Bihar district Saharsa, Veerayatan conducted a one of a kind eye camp for the flood affected victims of the area. 1200 operations with an intraocular lens were successfully conducted, in addition to 10 000 O.P.Ds, and the free distribution of 1000 pairs of custom made glasses. To sustain each and every patient for the indefinite future, food, lodging, blankets, utensils, and clothes were also provided.

In the region, 4 000 000 people are without a single hospital to care for their health needs. In light of this, Veerayatan currently plans to build a modern hospital in addition to holding similar eye camps annually. With a consistent flow of medical care in addition to humanitarian aid in the case of future disaster, the underserved millions of Northern Bihar will no doubt experience a better quality of life.
